Moonshine Mafia by Jon Marple

Moonshine Mafia by Jon Marple

This is a story about a family's moonshine business in West Virginia in the 1920s and 30s. Not only is it about moonshine during prohibition, but it also has prostitution, a couple of heists, and a young lawyer who starts to get a taste of life. It took me a minute to get into Moonshine Mafia, but when I did, I couldn’t put it down. I know a book is good when I can’t sleep because I’m thinking about it.

Overall, it was a great story with great characters and great dialogue.

I’m excited about the second part of this story, which is being worked on.

The only downfall in this book is the editing. I don’t knock self-published authors for this as long as the story is still good, and it doesn’t bother me much. I completely understand that most self-published authors only have money for maybe one editor, while mainstream books have twenty or more people editing and proofreading them.

This was a great book if you are a fan of Lawless with Tom Hardy or the book The Wettest County in the World: A Novel Based on a True Story by Matt Bondurant

Also, the chapters were all short, which is always a big plus.
