No Country For Old Men by Cormac McCarthy

No Country For Old Men by Cormac McCarthy

I wanted to love this book so much, but at the end of the day, it basically just put me to sleep every time I opened it. I rushed through it yesterday to finish it.

This is the third McCarthy book I’ve picked up in my life. The first, “The Road,” is one of my all-time favorites. The Road literally gave me nightmares as I read it. It was one of my top five favorite books ever.

Then, shortly after, I picked up another one of his books and stopped reading it. I couldn’t get into it.

But now, years later, I wanted to give this book a chance. I gave it a chance, and it helped me go to sleep.

The story was based in Southwest Texas, and I have been to many of the places in the book. Just a few days before I picked up the book, I traveled to Del Rio. Last week I was on my way to Fort Stockton, I thought I better not stop on the side of the road. Even though I did a took a few pics.

The story could have been so much better, but I still don’t know what it was really about. Yes, it was about drug money and a killer trying to get it back, but other than that, I was lost.

I’ll give Cormac McCarthy 2 stars for this one because I liked the locations, and he wrote “The Road.” I'm gonna watch the movie tonight again
